TBC: 3, RCCG DC United (Div 2): 1

Tactical masterclass earns Testwood a vital win!

Back in the depths of Portsmouth again, Testwood visited league contenders RCCG. The earlier fixture ended in embarrassment for Testwood, going down 6-1 losers, it was fair to say the away side had a point to prove today.

Testwood knew they had to be compact and disciplined to beat RCCG. From minute 1 to the 90, they were! Testwood enjoyed watching RCCG try to break the away side down with no luck, then quickly moving up the pitch and catching RCCG on the counter attack. A long ball forward, followed by a lofted cross saw Testwood head home a first. Minutes later, a corner was dispatched off the head again from Testwood. Testwood remained disciplined and caught RCCG on the counter attack again, with another lofted cross, which was again headed home. 5 minutes left of the half and Testwood gifted the home side a goal to make it 3-1 at half time.

The second half was much of the same, with Testwood looking calm and organised. Sadly, RCCG got into some bother with each other which led to a player being sent off. Testwood managed to remain composed and saw out the 3-1 win comfortably.

A great win for the boys in blue!
