TBC: 3, Riverside Family Church (Div 2) : 6

Testwood fight hard against a strong Riverside team but just fall short….

A monsoon hit Testwood on Saturday morning, but the brave 22 men ploughed on irrespective of the weather. A waterlogged pitch saw Riverside take the lead 20 minutes into the first half. The game was well matched but two ‘interesting’ penalty decisions went against the home side, which saw them 3-0 down. Just on half time Testwood were wrongly denied a penalty but managed to claw one goal back before the break.

Testwood started the second half well and scored early. Riverside continued to play football and scored two quick goals to extend their lead to 5-2. Late in the second half both teams continued to press and received a reward a piece to make the final score 6-3.

Testwood can take many positive from the game against the league leaders, as they matched the away side for most of the game. Credit to Riverside for scoring some excellent footballing goals which started from playing at the back.

A great game played in good spirts, considering the conditions. Special mention to Steve for his match prayer and passing on well wishes to the Head Pastor of Testwood church.
