Two wins on the bounce for Testwood!

A gray Saturday morning saw Testwood host RCCG in their second league game since the return from lockdown. Confidence was high following a 2-1 victory last Saturday but RCCG were looking to improve on their defeat from the previous week. The game started at a frantic pace with RCCG seeing a lot of the ball and moving it round quickly. Testwood soaked up the pressure and grew into the game. After 25 minutes, RCCG took the lead with a well timed run and a cool finish. Testwood applied more pressure in the RCCG defensive third which eventually led to a penalty to the home side, which was dispatched confidently. 1-1 at half time. The second half became a little more scrappy with both sides really digging deep to take the lead. Testwood settled quicker than RCCG and after an extensive period of pressure, the home side were awarded another penalty. Once again, Testwood made no mistake from the penalty spot. 2-1 up with 15 minutes to play, Testwood defence were unbreakable. RCCG threw men forward but a calm Testwood defence continued to have the upper hand. With two minutes left, a quick counter attack saw a well timed pass through the defence for Testwood to tuck away their third and confirm the win!

A great, fast-paced game of football which was refereed well.
